• Red Heart Super Saver medium (worsted) weight acrylic yarn (7 oz/ 364 yds/198g per skein): 2 skeins #336 warm brown 1 skein each #400 gray heather, #316 soft white, #341 light gray, #312 black and #365 coffee • Size J/10/6mm crochet hook or

size needed to obtain gauge • Tapestry needle

GAUGE

Center Stripe Rows 1–6 = 2 inches x 2 inches

PATTERN NOTES

Row 1 of Center Stripe is right side of work. Row 2 establishe­s pattern stitch repeated in several places on Throw. When working Stripes, Wedges and Corner Squares, always begin with right side facing. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

THROW CENTER STRIPE

Row 1: With gray heather, ch 8, working in back bar of ch (see

illustrati­on), sc in 2nd ch from hook, [ch 1, sk next ch, sc in next ch] across, turn. (4 sc, 3 ch-1 sps)

Rows 2–82: Ch 1, sc in first st, [ch 1, sk next ch sp, sc in next st] across, turn. At end of last row, fasten off.

Row 1: With soft white, pull up lp in end of ch on Center Stripe at bottom right according to Assembly Diagram, ch 1, sc in same ch as beg ch-1 and in end of each row across, turn. (83 sc)

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first st, [ch 1, sk next st, sc in next st] across, turn. Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each st and in each ch-1 sp across, turn. Rows 4 & 5: Rep rows 2 and 3. At end of last row, fasten off.

Row 1: With warm brown, pull up lp in first sc on last row of 2nd Stripe, ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first st, [sk next st, shell (see Special

Stitch) in next st, sk next st, sc in next st] across to last 2 sts, sk next st, 2 dc in last st, turn.

Rows 3–6: Ch 1, sc in first st, [shell in next sc, sc in center st of next shell] across to last st, 2 dc in last st, turn.

Row 7: Ch 1, sc in first st, *hdc in next st, dc in next st**, hdc in next st, sc in next st, rep from * across, ending last rep at **. Fasten off.

Row 1: With soft white, pull up lp in first st at bottom of 3rd Stripe, ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. Rows 2–5: Rep rows 2–5 for 2nd Stripe.

5th Stripe

Row 1: With gray heather, pull up lp in first st at bottom of 4th Stripe, ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

Rows 2–6: Ch 1, sc in first st, [ch 1, sk next st, sc in next st] across, turn.

Row 7: Ch 1, sc in each st and in each ch-1 sp across. Fasten off.

6th Stripe

Rep 4th Stripe.

7th Stripe

Row 1: With coffee, pull up lp in first sc on 6th Stripe at bottom, ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first st, [ch 1, sk next st, sc in next st] across, turn.

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in first st, [sk next ch-1 sp, shell in next st, sk next ch-1 sp, sc in next st] across, sk next ch-1 sp, 2 dc in last st, turn.

Rows 4 & 5: Rep rows 3 and 4 of 3rd Stripe.

Row 6: Ch 1, sc in first st, *hdc in next st, dc in next st**, hdc in next st, sc in next st, rep from * across, ending last rep at **. Fasten off.

2ND SIDE

Rep 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th Stripes on opposite side of Center Stripe.

FIRST END (LEFT OF CENTER) First Small Corner

Row 1: With soft white, pull up lp in end of row 1 on 7th Stripe at top left on 2nd Side, ch 1, sc in end of each sc row and 2 sc in end of each dc row across 7th Stripe, turn. (8 sc)

Rows 2–8: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. At end of last row, fasten off.

Top Stripe

Row 1: With coffee, pull up lp in end of last row of 6th Stripe at top right, ch 1, working in ends of rows, evenly sp 71 sc across to end of 6th Stripe on opposite Side, sl st in row 1 of Small Corner, turn.

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first st, [ch 1, sk next st, sc in next st] across, turn.

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in first st, [sk next ch-1 sp, shell in next st, sk next ch-1 sp, sc in next st] across, ending with sk next ch-1 sp, 2 dc in last st, sl st in row 4 of Small Corner, turn.

Row 4: Ch 1, sc in first st, [shell in next sc, sc in center st of shell] across to last st, 2 dc in last st, turn.

Row 5: Ch 1, sc in first st, [shell in next sc, sc in center st of shell] across to last st, 2 dc in last st, sl st in rows 7 and 8 of Small Corner, turn.

2nd Small Corner

Work same as for First Small Corner. Sl st odd-numbered rows of 2nd Small Corner to correspond­ing odd-numbered rows of Top Stripe as follows: row 1, sl st to row 1, row 3, sl st in row 3, row 5, sl st in top of dc on row 4, row 7, sl st in bottom of dc on row 6, sl st in top of same dc.

2ND END

Rep First End on bottom edge of Stripes.

Side Border (Left of Center) First Panel

Row 1: With black, pull up lp in 2nd Small Corner on bottom, ch 1, 2 sc in same row, sc in end of each row across, turn. (9 sc)

Rows 2–17: [Rep rows 2 and 3 of 2nd Stripe alternatel­y] 8 times. At end of last row, fasten off.

Warm Brown Side Stripe

With warm brown, pull up lp in first st of 7th Stripe at

top left, ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first st, [ch 1, sk next st, sc in next st] across, turn.

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in first st, [ch 1, sk next ch-1 sp, sc in next sc] across, sl st in row 3 of First Panel, turn.

Row 4: Ch 1, sc in first st, [ch 1, sk next ch-1 sp, sc in next st] across, turn.

Rep Side Border on opposite Side.

End Border First Large Corner

Row 1: With soft white, pull up lp in row 1 of 2nd Panel on Side Border, ch 1, sc in end of each row across, turn. (17 sc)

Rows 2–17: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. At end of last row, fasten off.

First Panel

Row 1: With black, pull up lp in first st of last row on First Small Corner, ch 1, 2 sc in same st, sc in each st across, sl st in row 1 of First Large Corner, turn.

Next rows: Work as for other First Panels, sl st to every odd-numbered row on First Large Corner. At end of last row, fasten off.

End Stripe (Top)

Row 1: With light gray, pull up lp in top right st of Top Stripe, ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

Rows 2–17: Rep rows 2–17 of Warm Brown Side Stripe, sl st in correspond­ing rows of First Panel. At end of last row, fasten off.

2nd Panel

Row 1: With black, pull up lp in top right st of 2nd Small Corner, ch 1, 2 sc in same st, sc in each st across, sl st in row 1 of End Stripe, turn.

Next rows: Work as for other 2nd Panels, sl st to correspond­ing rows of End Stripe. At end of last row, fasten off.

2nd Large Corner

Row 1: With soft white, pull A art, up lp in last row of First Panel on Side Border, ch 1, sc in end of each row across, turn. (17 sc)

Rows 2–17: Work as for First Large Corner, sl st in correspond­ing rows of 2nd Panel. At end of last row, fasten off. Rep End Border on opposite end.

EDGING

Rnd 1: With black, pull up lp in end of 2nd Large Corner at top right, ch 1, evenly sp 123 sc across each short end and 135 sc on each long edge with (sc, ch 2, sc) in each corner, join (see

Pattern Notes) in beg sc, turn. Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in first st, [ch 1, sk next st, sc in next st] around, with ch 1, sk next st, (sc, ch 2, sc) in each corner ch sp, join in beg sc, turn.

Rnd 3: Sl st in next ch sp, [ch 2, sk next st, sl st in next ch sp] around with ch 1, sk next st, (sl st, ch 3, sl st) in each corner ch-2 sp, join in beg sl st. Fasten off.
