Single crochet join (sc join): Place a slip knot on hook, insert hook in indicated st, yo and pull up a lp, yo and draw through both lps on hook.

Facial Features
With black, embroider satin
stitches (see illustration) for eyes and nose, making nose bigger than eyes. Embroider straight stitches (see illustration) for mouth. Pin Face to 1 Head and carefully sew in place.
Tummy
With white, ch 2.
Row 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, ch 1, turn. (6 sc)
Row 2: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 3: Sc in first sc, 2 sc in each of next 4 sc, sc in last sc, ch 1, turn. (10 sc) Rows 4–9: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 10: Sc in first sc, [sc dec in next 2 sc] 4 times, sc in rem sc, ch 1, turn. (6 sc)
Row 11: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Rnd 12: Sc dec in first 2 sc, [sc dec in next 2 sc] twice, do not turn, sc evenly around, adding sts as needed to keep work flat,
join in first sc of rnd. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Place Tummy on Body and sew in place. With RS held tog, sew Head and Body pieces tog, leaving opening at bottom of Body. Turn RS out and stuff with fiberfill, then sew opening closed.
EAR BACK

EAR FRONT
Make 2.
Rows 1–6: With white, rep rows 1–6 of Ear Back.
Row 7: Sc dec in first 2 sc, sc in next sc, sc dec in last 2 sc, turn. Fasten off. (3 sc) Rnd 8: With WS facing, sc join
(see Special Stitches) terracotta in any st, sc evenly sp around, working 3 sc in each corner, join in beg sc. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. With WS tog, sew Ear Back and Ear Front tog. Do not stuff. Sew in place.
TAIL
With terracotta, ch 15.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each rem ch across, ch 1, turn. (14 sc) Row 2: Lp st (see Special Stitches) in each st across, ch 1, turn. Row 3: Sc in each st across, keeping lp st in place. Rows 4–12: [Rep rows 2 and 3 alternately] 4 times, then rep row 2 once, changing color (see Stitch Guide) to white in last st of row 12.
Rows 13–16: [Rep rows 3 and 2 alternately] twice.
Row 17: [Sc dec in next 2 sts] 6 times. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. (6 sc) Weave tail through last row. With WS tog, sew ends of rows tog. Do not stuff. Sew opening flat, then sew to back of Body.
ARM & LEG
Make 4. With black, ch 2.
