Simple diamond motifs crocheted in a variegated self-striping yarn give the impression of a colorful fall landscape. The motifs are crocheted together in a pleasing allover pattern, making the finished size easy to adjust.

Full Diamonds are joined into diagonal strips in the direction of bottom right to top left of Throw. Hold 2 Full Diamonds with WS tog. In position to work from left to right, match marked row 17 of front-facing Full Diamond to bottom point (row 1) of back-facing Full Diamond. Work around post of sts at ends of rows through both thicknesses, as follows: Join (see

Pattern Notes) chocolate in row 17 of facing Full Diamond and row 1 of back Full Diamond, ch 1, working loosely from left to right, work 2 reverse sc (see

Stitch Guide) in same place and in each row across, ending with 2 reverse sc in row 1 of frontfacing Full Diamond and row 16 of back-facing Full Diamond, fasten off. Rep for rem Full Diamonds, forming 5 diagonal strips. Join relevant Top, Bottom, Right and Left Half Diamonds to top and bottom of strips in same manner. Join the 2 bottom left and the 2 top right partial Diamonds

in same manner to form small strips. (7 various sized diagonal strips) Continuing to match rows and working in 2 strands of each joining at end of seams at any adjacent corners of Full Diamonds and partial Diamonds, join strips in same manner. Remove markers.

Edging

With RS facing, join chocolate in 2 strands at end of joining at bottom left corner of Throw, ch 4, working from left to right, work 1 reverse sc in same st. Loosely work reverse sc from left to right evenly around Throw, as follows: Around post of st at end of rows on left and right side edges, work [2 reverse sc in next row, 1 reverse sc in next row] across. Wherever the ends of 2 joining seams meet, work 2 reverse sc in 2 strands in end of both seams at the same time, to close the gap between motifs. In 2 strands at end of seam at each of the next 3 corners of Throw, work (reverse sc, ch 3, reverse sc). On top edge of Throw, work 1 reverse sc in each dc. On bottom edge, work 1 reverse sc in the 2 unworked lps of each of the 33 base chs. Join in first ch made. Fasten off.
