MATERIALS

• Bernat Super Value medium (worsted) weight acrylic yarn (7 oz/ 426 yds/197g per ball): 1 ball each #307421 black

and #353012 taupe • Bernat Super Value Big Stripes medium (worsted) weight acrylic yarn (5 oz/252 yds/142g per ball):

2 balls #454016 warm patina • Size G/6/4mm crochet hook or

size needed to obtain gauge • Tapestry needle

GAUGE

13 sts = 3 inches; 10 rows = 3 inches

PATTERN NOTES

Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Chain-2 at beginning of row counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated. When changing colors, do not cut color not in use; carry loosely across side edge of work until next needed. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

SPECIAL STITCH

Place a slip knot on hook, insert hook in indicated st, yo and pull up a lp, yo and draw through both lps on hook.

RUG

Row 1 (RS): With black, ch 84, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (83 sc)

Row 2: Ch 2 (see Pattern Notes), sk first st, *dc in each of next 3 sts**, ch 3, sk next 3 sts, rep from * across, ending last rep at **, dc in last st, changing color (see Stitch Guide and Pattern Notes) to warm patina, turn. (44 dc, 13 ch-3 sps)

Rows 13–110: (Rep rows 5–12) 12 times, then rep rows 5 and 6; fasten off after last row.

BORDER

Rnd 1: Sc join (see Special Stitch) black in upper right corner, 2 sc in same corner, *working around carried yarns, sc in end of each row to next corner, 3 sc in next corner, sc in each st across short side to next corner*, 3 sc in next corner, rep between *, join (see Pattern Notes) in beg sc. Rnd 2: Ch 1, reverse sc (see Stitch Guide) in each st around, join in beg sc, fasten off.
