PATTERN NOTES
Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated. Chain-4 at beginning of round counts as first double crochet and chain-1 unless otherwise stated. To keep beginning and ending of rounds centered and neater, work as follows: At beginning of round, chain-4 counts as a partial V-stitch and will be completed at end of round. At end of round, work (dc, ch 1, sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch-4). This finishes the partial V-stitch. This V-stitch has only 1 chain instead of 2 chains, unlike other V-stitches in round. Turn and slip stitch in chain-1 space. Increasing is done at 4 marked points. Be sure to place stitch markers as instructed when working increases. Poncho can be worn with increase points at front, back and each shoulder, or with increase points at raglan points, depending on how you like the folds in the fabric to be positioned.
