• Scheepjes Bloom medium (worsted) weight cotton yarn

(13/4 oz/87 yds/50g per ball): 4 balls #416 clementis (MC) 3 balls #423 daisy (CC)

• Size 7/4.5mm crochet hook or

size needed to obtain gauge • Tapestry needle

• Locking stitch marker (optional) • Polyester stuffing

• 2-inch x 31/4-inch piece of

cardboard for Tassels

GAUGE

14 dc = 4 inches; 8 rows = 4 inches

PATTERN NOTES

Pillow is made from 2 rectangula­r Panels. Front Panel is worked in 2 contrastin­g colors with an interlocki­ng technique. Front and joining rows are worked in contrast color; back rows are worked in main color. Back Panel is worked in double and treble crochet rows in main color.

Weave in loose ends as work progresses.

Chain-4 at beginning of row counts as first treble crochet unless otherwise stated.

Chain-5 at beginning of row counts as first treble crochet and chain-1 unless otherwise stated. When instructed to drop a color, do not cut or fasten off. Place loop on locking stitch marker if desired to prevent unraveling. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

Chain-3 at beginning of row counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated.

dc, [ 3-tr cl (see Special Stitches), ch 5, sk next dc] 8 times, 3-tr cl, leave beg ch-3 unworked, turn. (10 cls, 9 ch-5 sps) Front row 3: Ch 5 (see Pattern

Back row 3: Ch 4, tr in each st across, turn. Drop MC.

Joining row 4: With WS facing, insert hook in first tr of front row 2 and pick up dropped CC lp, ch 3 (see Pattern Notes).

Matching sts of back row with sts and ch-1 sps of front row, *dc in next tr of both rows**, dc in next tr of back row and in ch-1 sp of front row, rep from * across, ending last rep at **, dc in last tr of back row, turn. Row 4: Ch 3, dc in each tr across, turn. (61 dc)

Rows 5–22: [Rep rows 2–4] 6 times. At end of last row, fasten off.

FINISHING

Block Panels to finished measuremen­ts.

With WS held tog, sew 3 sides of Panels tog. As last side is sewn, insert stuffing to desired fullness.

Tassel Make 16.

Wrap CC around length of cardboard 10 times, cut across 1 edge and remove cardboard. Hold strands tog and fold in half. With RS of Pillow facing, insert hook at end of dc row, pull folded end through, pull ends through fold, then pull ends to tighten knot.
