Rows 6–16: Rep row 2. At end of row 16, fasten off leaving long end of yarn for sewing. Fold lengthwise, so seam is at center back of leg, and stuff. Sew top of leg closed and sew to body, positionin­g across half of bottom of body.

Sew seam, matching colors, and stuff as you go.

With rust, ch 2.

Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join with sl st in first st, fasten off, leaving long end. Sew in place. Ear Make 2.

With lemon, ch 7.

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next ch, 2 sc in each of next 2 chs, sc in rem 2 chs, turn. (8 sc) Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Make 1 small straight stitch

(see illustrati­on) in corner of eye with white. Embroider 3 straight stitch eyelashes on each eye. Shorts Make 2.

Row 10: Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 16 sc, 2 sc in last sc, turn. (20 sc) Rows 11–15: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn. At end of last row, fasten off leaving long end of yarn. Assembly

Hold both shorts pieces tog and sew center back seam. Fold so seam is center, then sew crotch seam. Put on giraffe and sew in place at waist.

SQUARE Make 2 with pistachio as first color and 2 with periwinkle as first color.

Fasten off first color.

Carefully sew the 4 squares tog using photo as a guide.
