MATERIALS

• Lily Sugar ’n Cream Super

Size medium (worsted) weight cotton yarn (4 oz/

200 yds/113g per ball):

1 ball each #818802 teal

and #818004 ecru

• Size G/6/4mm crochet hook or

size needed to obtain gauge • Tapestry needle

• Stitch marker

GAUGE

9 dc = 2 inches; rnds 1–3 = 31/2 inches

PATTERN NOTES

Weave in loose ends as work progresses.

Do not join rounds unless otherwise stated; work in continuous rounds using stitch marker to indicate beginning of rounds. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

SPECIAL STITCHES

Surface slip stitch (surface

sl st): Insert hook in indicated st, yo, pull lp to RS and through lp on hook.

Shell: (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in indicated st.

RUFFLE POT HOLDER BASE

Rnd 1: With teal, make a slip ring (see illustrati­on), ch 2 (does not count as a st), work 12 dc in ring, do not join. Place marker (see Pattern Notes) in first dc. (12 dc)

Rnd 2: Work 2 dc in each st around. (24 dc)

Rnd 3: [Dc in next st, 2 dc in next st] around. (36 dc)

Rnd 4: [Dc in each of next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st] around. (48 dc)

Rnd 5: [Dc in each of next 3 sts, 2 dc in next st] around. (60 dc)

Ruffle Spiral

Hdc in next st, sc in next st, (sl st, ch 10, sl st) in next st (hang

ing lp made), ch 1, turn; working inwardly in spiral toward center, [ch 5, sk next st, fpsc (see Stitch

Guide) around next st] around, sl st through center. Fasten off.

SPIRAL DISHCLOTH

Rnds 1–5: Rep Base rnds 1–5 of Pot Holder.

Edging rnd: Hdc in next st, sc in next st, sl st in next st, [ch 2, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sk next st, sl st in next st] around, join (see Pattern Notes) in first sl st.

Fasten off teal.

Surface Spiral

With ecru held beneath work, bring up lp through center of Dishcloth, working outwardly to edge, work surface sl sts (see Special Stitches) in top of each dc. Fasten off.

Shell Edging

Working in back lps (see Stitch

Guide) behind edging rnd, join ecru in the back lp of any sk st, ch 1, sc in same st, [ shell (see

Special Stitches) in next sk st, sc in next sk st] around, shell in last sk st, join in first sc. Fasten off. (15 shells)

FINISHING
