1 hank each #9463B gold, #7802 cerise, #9469 hot pink, #9421 blue Hawaii, #9484 stratosphere and #8911 grape jelly
• Size J/10/6mm crochet hook or
size needed to obtain gauge • Pinking shears
GAUGE
With 2 strands held tog before felting: 11 sl sts = 4 inches; 17 rows = 4 inches
PATTERN NOTES
Change color each row in random order.
Hold 2 strands of yarn together unless otherwise stated.
Do not weave in yarn ends as you work. Leave loose ends free to be trimmed later.
Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated. If substituting another wool yarn, be sure not to use superwash wool as it will not felt. Felting does not significantly change the length of the fabric. Work 4 inches of crochet fabric for each coaster to be made; for example, work 12 inches to make 3 coasters.
COASTERS
Getting started: With 2 strands of first color held tog (see Pattern Notes), ch 20, turn. Fasten off. Row 1: Join (see Pattern Notes) 2nd color in first ch, sl st in each rem ch across, turn. Fasten off. (20 sts)
Row 2: Join 3rd color in front lp (see Stitch Guide) on first st, sl st in front lp of each rem st across.
Rep row 2, changing color each row, until piece measures
12 inches (see Pattern Notes) or desired length.
FINISHING
Trim ends to 1/2- inch length to avoid tangles during felting.
Felt fabric by hand or machine until fabric is very dense. Lay flat to dry, smoothing fabric to shape as needed. Trace 4-inch circles on fabric. With pinking shears, cut circles just inside tracing lines.
