Summer Blooms Headband

A row of cluster-stitch blooms is the focal point for this wide headband that is just perfect for sultry summer days. Crocheted in a linen/silk blend yarn, the headband is easily adjusted by simply moving the button.

MATERIALS

• Knit One Crochet Too

Soie et Lin medium (worsted) weight silk/linen/ polyamide yarn (31/2 oz/

309 yds/100g per skein):

1 skein #383 cumin

• Size G/6/4mm crochet hook or

size needed to obtain gauge • Tapestry needle

• 1-inch button

GAUGE

In sc, 15 rows and 14 sts = 3 inches. Be sure to check gauge and adjust hook size as needed. For this pattern, st gauge is more critical than row gauge.

PATTERN NOTES

Project is worked in three parts: Section A, Section B (Cable Section) and Section C.

Weave in loose ends as work progresses.

SPECIAL STITCHES

2-treble cluster (2-tr cl): [Yo twice, insert hook in indicated st, yo, pull up a lp, (yo, pull through 2 lps) twice] twice, yo, pull through all 3 lps on hook.

3-treble cluster (3-tr cl): [Yo twice, insert hook in indicated st, yo, pull up a lp, (yo, pull through 2 lps) twice] 3 times, yo, pull through all 4 lps on hook.

Triple cluster (TrC): Ch 4,

[yo twice, insert hook in 4th ch from hook, yo, pull up a lp, (yo, pull through 2 lps) twice] twice, *sk next 3 sts, [yo twice, insert hook in st, yo, pull up a lp, (yo, pull through 2 lps) twice] 3 times in next st, rep from * once more, yo and pull through all 9 lps on hook (counts as 3 clusters in st count at end of row).

Foundation single crochet

(foundation sc): Insert hook into the base of the last st made, yo and pull up a lp (base made), yo and pull through one lp, yo and pull through 2 lps (sc made).
