Rnd 4: [Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc] around. (24 sc)
Rnd 5: [Sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc] around. (30 sc)
Rnd 6: [Sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc] around. (36 sc)
Rnd 7: [Sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc] around. (42 sc)
Rnd 8: Sc in next 12 sc, [sk next sc, 6 dc in next sc, sk next sc, sc in next 6 sc] twice, sc in last 12 sc. (36 sc, 12 dc)
Rnd 9: Sc in next 11 sc, [sk next sc, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next 4 dc, dc in next dc, sk next sc, sc in next 4 sc] twice, sc in last 13 sc, join in first sc. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. (32 sc, 20 dc) With spring green, ch 2.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, do not join. Place marker in first sc. (6 sc)

Rnd 7: [Sc in next sc, sc dec (see Stitch Guide) in next 2 sc] around. (6 sc)
Row 8: With st on hook at right, flatten work, working through both thicknesses, sc in each sc across, turn. (3 sc)
Row 9: [Ch 3, hdc in 2nd and 3rd chs from hook, sl st in next sc] 3 times, working last sl st in last sc. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Make 2.
With soft white, work same as rnds 1 and 2 of Head, joining in first sc at end of last rnd. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
ASSEMBLY & FINISHING
Sew 4 Water Lilies in center of 4 Lily Pad Squares and rem 4 in corner of rem Squares.
With black, embroider pupil in middle of each White of Eye with
satin stitches (see illustration).
Embroider smile with backstitches (see illustration).
Sew Eyes on Frog Head.
Sew Legs on Frog Square. Arrange Frog Square in center, a Lily Pad Square with the Water Lily in the corner in each corner, and Lily Pad Squares with centered Water Lilies in the rem spaces. With bright yellow, WS held tog and working in back lps, sc Squares tog.

Working in both lps, sc join (see
Special Stitch) bright yellow in center dc of any side, [sc around to last 2 st before next outer corner ch-2 sp, hdc in next st, dc in next st, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next corner ch-2 sp, dc in next st, hdc in next st] around, sc in rem sts, join in beg sc.
