PATTERN NOTES

Weave in loose ends as work progresses.

All pieces are worked in continuous rounds, except the sunflower. Do not slip stitch to join except in sunflower.

Use stitch marker to mark the first stitch of each round. Move marker up as work progresses.

PUMPKIN STACK LARGE PUMPKIN

Rnd 1: With coral, form a slip ring (see illustrati­on), ch 1, 8 sc in ring. Place stitch marker (see Pattern Notes). (8 sc) Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around. (16 sc) Rnd 3: [2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc] around. (24 sc)

Rnd 4: [2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc] around. (32 sc)

Rnd 5: Sc in each st around. Rnd 6: [2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc] around. (40 sc)

Rnd 55: [Sc dec in next 2 sts] around. (8 sc)

Rnd 56: [Sc dec in next 2 sts] around. Fasten off, leaving a long end for sewing the medium pumpkin on. (4 sc)

Using a long strand of matching yarn, [bring the yarn from

the bottom of the pumpkin to the top, sew it down, and wrap back to the bottom] twice. Rep a total of 7 times in different areas around pumpkin to form the indents along the sides.

MEDIUM PUMPKIN

Rnds 1–13: With carrot, rep rnds 1–13 of large pumpkin.

Rnds 14–25: Sc in each st around.

Rnds 26–38: Rep rnds 44–56 of large pumpkin. Stuff firmly after rnd 34. Leave a long end for sewing the small pumpkin on. With carrot, create indents along sides as for large pumpkin.

SMALL PUMPKIN

Rnds 1–10: With pumpkin, rep rnds 1–10 of large pumpkin.

Rnds 11–18: Sc in each st around.

Rnds 19–28: Rep rnds 47–56 of large pumpkin. Stuff firmly after rnd 24. Fasten off and weave in end.

With pumpkin, create indents along sides as for large pumpkin.

STEM

Rnd 1: With café latte, make a slip ring, ch 1, 6 sc in ring. (6 sts)

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sts)

Rnd 3: Sc in back lps (see Stitch Guide) only in each st around.

Rnds 4–9: Sc in each st around.

Rnd 10: Sc in next 3 sc, hdc in next 6 sc, sc in next 3 sc. Fasten off, leaving long end for sewing the stem to the pumpkin.

PUMPKIN VINE

With tea leaf, ch 32, sc in 2nd ch from hook and next 2 chs, [2 sc in next ch, sc in next 3 chs] across to the end. Fasten off, leaving a long end for sewing vine to the pumpkin. (38 sc)

PUMPKIN LEAF

Make 2.

Rnd 1: With tea leaf, ch 11, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across to the last ch, 3 sc in the last st, working in unused lps on opposite side of ch, sc in each ch to last ch, 2 sc in last ch. (22 sc)

Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in first sc,

[ch 2, sk next sc, sc in the next sc] 4 times, ch 2, sk next sc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in the next sc, place marker in ch-2 sp just made,

[ch 2, sk next sc, sc in the next sc] 5 times, sc in last sc, turn. (13 sc)

Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in first st, hdc in next st, [(hdc, dc, hdc) in next ch-2 sp, sl st in next sc] across to marked ch sp, 3 dc in marked ch-2 sp, [sl st in next sc, (hdc, dc, hdc) in next ch-2 sp] across to last ch-2 sp, 2 hdc in the last ch-2 sp, sc in the last st. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing to the pumpkin. (35 sts not including sl sts)

SUNFLOWER

Rnd 1: With café latte, form a slip ring, 8 sc in the ring. (8 sc)

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. Fasten off. (16 sc)

Rnd 3: Join lemon with sl st to back lp of any sc, ch 3, tr in same st, dc in next st, *(sl st in back lp, ch 3, tr) in next st, dc in next st, rep from * around, join with sl st to first sl st. (8 tr, 8 dc) Rnd 4: Working in the unworked front lps (see

Stitch Guide) of rnd 2 sts only, ch 1, *(sl st, ch 2, dc) in next st, hdc in next st, rep from * around, join with sl st to beg ch-1. Fasten off. (8 dc, 8 hdc)

FINISHING

Sew the medium pumpkin to the large pumpkin. Sew the small pumpkin to the medium pumpkin. Sew the stem, vine, leaves and sunflower to the small pumpkin, using the photo as a guide.
