For alpaca purists, there is nothing like Blue Sky Fibers yarns. With almost a dozen alpaca and alpaca-blend yarns, each with its own incredible color range, choosing which yarn to use for your next project will be an indecisively blissful experience! Our sample is a tried-and-true favorite: Baby Alpaca (center right) a 100% baby alpaca yarn with a soft luster and springy softness, comes in over 30 colors, both natural and dyed. The possibilities are endless!

King Cole

One word describes this Baby Alpaca DK (center left) yarn from King Cole—yum! This range of gently muted heathery colors is enough to tempt any fiber lover! Extremely soft, anything you make from this yarn is sure to become a favorite accessory. Try crocheting it with an H/8/5mm hook for an open look that is not too lacy but still lets this incredible fiber shine through. This yarn would also make a lovely option for the Strength & Hope Shawl by Denise Voie de Vie.

Berroco

Add a handful of wool and a touch of yak and you have Quechua (far right), a stunning blended yarn from Berroco, which exudes elegance and sophistication. This multi-ply and refined twisted yarn is perfect for projects where stitch definition is a must. Wouldn’t a lacy cowl be the perfect holiday accessory? Or how about a set of fingerless mitts to complement a new winter coat?

Lion Brand Yarn

Maybe these choices seem a bit out of your price range. Don’t fret! Lion Brand has the perfect option for you: Touch of Alpaca (far left). This affordable worsted-weight yarn is a perfect substitute for several of the yarns used in projects found in this issue. Its mix of alpaca and acyrlic makes it durable and washable, while still maintaining that supersoft appeal of alpaca. It also comes in 15 amazing colors!
