The Snowy Plover Kit: A BAWnimal by Club Crochet

- By Tara Orchard, editor of Crochet! magazine

This adorable Snowy Plover has a secret—it’s actually a Birb! A birb is a bird that diguises itself to look like other birds. This cute secret agent is so much fun to crochet and this kit makes it so easy to do.

If you’re not 100% confident in your amigurumi-making skills, this kit is perfect! It comes with everything you need to make your Snowy Plover—cotton yarn, eyes, pipe cleaners for the legs and beaks, and magnets so you can perch your Plover on metal items around your home or office. The kit also comes with the stuffing you’ll need, a crochet hook and a darning needle so you can get started right away!

You have the option of reading a written pattern or you can watch an instructional video that comes with your kit. They’re so easy to find too. You just have to scan the QR Code or search for the URL on the little card that comes with your kit and you’re ready to begin. You don’t have to worry about losing your pattern ever again.

The video is taught by Louie from @louiesloops, who designed this Birb. It is almost 2 hours long, but it’s easy to stop and restart where you left off. And there’s a video for left-handed crocheters too!

The Snowy Plovers are endangered species, and these kits (along with the other amigurumi kits from Club Crochet’s Earth Day Celebration) are being used to raise money for the World Wildlife Fund. All proceeds from the digital downloads are being donated.
