J-CLASS YACHTS RETURN TO NEWPORT
For many sailors, the words America’s Cup conjure up images of the graceful J-class yachts that raced for the Cup in the 1930s. If you’ve ever wanted to see these magnificent boats compete, head to Newport, Rhode Island, for the J Class World Championship, hosted by the New York Yacht Club, August 21 to 26, 2017. The J-class boats range from 120 to 140 feet, and seven of these giants will be sailing in the waters of Rhode Island Sound and Narragansett Bay.
