Sunny Outlook for the Caribbean

-

After last year’s cancellations of Caribbean rallies, the outlook looks significantly brighter for 2022’s sailing season. Two Atlantic Rally for Cruisers fleets have already made their Atlantic crossings, and a brand-new third ARC fleet, the ARC January, was added due to unprecedented demand. The ARC January departs the Canary Islands January 9, with expected arrivals in St. Lucia late in the month. Check worldcruising.com/ arc for updates.

Grenada Sailing Week starts January 27, with events for serious racers, Corinthians and families (grenada sailingweek.com).

The multihulls are on the move in St. Maarten, with several events scheduled, including the Caribbean Multihull Challenge, February 4-6, at the Sint Maarten Yacht Club (smyc.com/ caribbean-multihullchallenge). The RORC departs the Canary Islands January 8, with a record number of entries headed to Grenada (rorctrans atlantic.rorc.org).
