City has capital ideas for infrastructure improvements
Cupertino has a slew of Capital Improvement Projects expected to begin construction or be completed by the start of the new fiscal year on July 1. Stevens Creek Corridor Park Chain Master Plan: A study of the various uses of public lands along Stevens Creek for optimal public use and operation is in the predesign phase.
Memorial Park Master Plan and Parking Study: A feasibility study is underway for a master plan for the renovation of Memorial Park and evaluation of the parking needs for Memorial Park, Senior Center, Sports Center and the Quinlan Community Center.
All Inclusive Play Area at Jollyman Park: The city is exploring key components for the project, which has an estimated completion date of November 2021.
Bikeway Enhancements and Wayfinding Plan: Aspects of this project, scheduled for completion in September, include the installation of approximately 300 signs as well as additional bicycle routes throughout the city.
City Bridge Maintenance Repairs: By December, the city expects to design and construct bridge repairs recommended by Caltrans report and make additional improvements to bridges on Stevens Creek Boulevard, Homestead Road and Mcclellan Road at Stevens Creek.
Citywide Parks and Recreation Master Plan: The city intends to prepare a long-range, city-wide parks and recreation system master plan. A public outreach process including community-wide surveys was launched spring 2016 and continues. Completion of the master plan is anticipated in the current fiscal year.
Lawrence-mitty Park: The city is studying the feasibility of developing a neighborhood park on several acres of land adjacent to Saratoga Creek, currently owned by Santa Clara County and within San Jose city limits. The city anticipates that land acquisition details will bei worked out by October.
Linda Vista Trail: Construction of a trail connecting Mcclellan Ranch to Linda Vista Park on the east side of the golf course is expected to be completed by October.
Mcclellan Ranch Community Garden and Trash Enclosure Improvements: The city intends to re construct the existing community garden to provide better accessibility and more sustainable garden features and infrastructure. A trash enclosure is being constructed to protect and screen the dumpsters from view as well as minimize pollutant runoff. The project is due to be completed in October.
Mcclellan Ranch West Parking Lot Improvement: Design and construction of a new “green” meadow-style parking lot that is compatible with the creek environment at Mcclellan Ranch West is expected to be completed by mid-october.
Mcclellan Road Separated Bike Lane: Construction of a separated bikeway along Mcclellan Road will likely be done by November.

Regnart Creek Trail: Construction of a multi-use trail along Regnart Creek between Pacifica and Creekside Park is estimated to be done by July 2021, with design completion scheduled for this month.
Senior Center Pathway Improvement: It’s thought that construction of a new walkway to provide a pathway from the parking area to the Senior Center entrance will be done by March.
Signal Updates at Stevens Creek Boulevard and Bandley: Construction of a split-phase signal operation for vehicles entering Stevens Creek Boulevard from Bandley are anticipated to be completed this spring.
Stevens Creek Boulevard Bikeway: A physically separated bike lane on both sides of Stevens Creek between Tantau Avenue and Wolfe Road is anticipated to be built by September.
Stevens Creek Corridor Park Chain Master Plan: A study of the the various uses of public lands along Stevens Creek was initiated in March 2014 but is on hold pending progress on the Citywide Parks, Open Space and Recreation Master Plan, which could affect selection of a preferred alternative.
