SVCE launches ehub

Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) recently launched ehub, a set of online resources the Sunnyvale-based nonprofit designed to help customers make easy, informed choices about how to lower their carbon footprint.

As a community choice energy agency, SVCE was formed by 13 communities, including Cupertino, to fight climate change locally. The ehub, at svcleanenergy.org/ehub, provides residents of the cities it serves with information and tools to make the switch to clean energy providers.

Pages are dedicated to helping customers choose energy-efficient appliances and find qualified installers; compare models, range and other features of electric vehicles, locate charging stations and identify available rebates; and evaluate and install renewable and resilient power options.

“While Silicon Valley Clean Energy already supplies clean electricity from carbon-free sources to most households in our area, customers have indicated they want to do even more to fight climate change,” SVCE CEO Girish Balachandran said in a statement.

Turkey Trot’s hometown heroes

Those who register to run, walk or otherwise complete this year’s virtual Silicon Valley Turkey

Trot on Thanksgiving will also be called upon to do good deeds in their community.

Registrants will be entered into the new Hometown Hero Challenge and tasked with completing as many as 25 good deeds, which they can track online. Complete 20 good deeds by race week, Nov. 21-29, to earn the title of Hometown Hero and get a prize.
