Wildlife video days

The Santa Clara Valley Audubon Society has transforme­d its annual Wildlife and Harvest Day into a monthlong online event this year, which is running through the last weekend in November. The event, dubbed the Wildlife and Harvest Video Festival, will feature videos by the Audubon Society, based at McClellan Ranch at 22221 Mcclellan Road, and exhibiting partners, including the Santa Clara Valley Beekeepers Guild, Save Mount Diablo and Happy Hollow Park and Zoo.

Health education lectures

Bay Area Older Adults, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the health and well-being of adults ages 50 and older, is hosting two free virtual health education lectures in November.

The topic for Nov. 12 is “GMOS and Our Food Supply.” The lecturer will explain why companies like Monsanto spend billions making geneticall­y modified crops and how they are made, and discuss the risks associated with genetic modificati­on.

On Nov. 19, “Essential Nutrients and Vitamins: How to Distinguis­h the Good from the Bad” will be up for discussion. Learn what nutrients and vitamins the human body needs to function properly and why, how this changes as we age and how to choose the best quality dietary supplement­s.
