New manager at BD

- BY DONNIS HEUFTLEBULLOCK General Manager

BROKEN BOW - Becton Dickinson (BD) of Broken Bow has a new Plant Manager. David Berge has been at the plant for just a few months now.

Berge had been in Colorado for 32 years. He was not looking for a new job but an opportunity like the position of BD does not come around often so he just thought he would check it out.

When asked why he came to Nebraska and Broken Bow, Berge replied, “The people at BD sold me and I fell in love with Broken Bow.”

He is currently getting to know the 570-plus employees at the quarterly meetings that are held for all the shifts. He knew there would be a lot to learn and he is hoping to improve on providing to the overall leadership of the plant.

Being in Colorado for 32 years and originally from northern Minnesota, the cold weather does not bother him. He said he has had to make an adjustment to the Nebraska wind!

Berge was able to get a home purchased. He’s just waiting on the final closing and he will be out of temporary housing and ready to really get settled in Broken Bow.

Golf is something he enjoys and he is looking forward to getting to know the Nebraska courses.
