- BY DONNIS HUEFTLEBULLOCK General Manager

THEDFORD - There was a celebration in Thedford Thurs. Jan. 21 with the opening of the Western Nebraska Bank. The move came after the bank in the Purdum location had served the communities for the past 107 years. Being committed to the Sandhills communities and their people Western Nebraska Bank saw the move as a way to offer more services and better serve the farmers and ranchers of the area.

“We do a lot of our business via mail and telephone, which we will continue to do, but hopefully being located on the crossroads of Highways 2 and 83, more of our customers will be able to stop in and meet us all face to face,” Vice President Michelle Milleson said.

The new facility is beautifully decorated and flooded with natural light and is a great addition to Thedford. At the ribbon cutting for the bank, members of the Thedford Service Club were present while Western Nebraska Bank donated $500 each to the Service Club and the Thedford Area Community Fundraisers.

With the addition of a

drive through, night depository and ATM all services that were not offered in Purdum. The bank also offers mobile banking, mobile deposit, Apple Pay and Bill Pay as well as instant issue debit cards and remote deposit capture and payroll services for the business customers. With the move also came extended hours 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, staying open eight hours a day.

They might be in western Nebraska where it is said cows outnumber people, yet with this expansion, all modern banking is being offered.

Still serving multi-generational families Agriculture and the Sandhills are most important to the bank. All employees are part of ranching families and know what it takes to help their customers thrive and survive in this day and age. The bank not only serves Ag but offers commercial and consumer services in their mortgage department.
