Gary Lee Fuhrman, 76, of Buffalo, Minn. passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021. He was born Feb. 20, 1945 in Burke, S.D.

Gary graduated from Burke High School in South Dakota with the class of 1963. He furthered his education at the University of South Dakota Springfiel­d, obtaining a Bachelor’s of Science degree in auto technology and diesel.

He used his knowledge to teach diesel mechanics at Iowa Lakes Community College and Northeaste­rn Junior College in Sterling, Colo.

Prior to Gary’s college days, he honorably served in the US Navy for four years. He also later went on and joined the Army National Guard for 20 years. He was very proud of being in the military!

On Oct. 30, 1964, Gary Fuhrman and Sharon Davis were united in marriage in Burke, SD.

Gary was always learning something new. He earned his black belt in Taekwondo, trained to be an EMT and medic in the military and enjoyed carpentry, woodworkin­g and hunting.

With all of Gary’s accomplish­ments, being a Grandpa was his favorite. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchild­ren and occasional­ly spoiling them.

He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Frances (Kirsch) Fuhrman; brother Jim Fuhrman; parents-in-law John and Jenna Davis; and sister-in-law Susan Davis.

Gary is survived by his wife of 56 years Sharon Fuhrman of Buffalo, Minn.; daughter Lorra (Bryan) Parliament of Rogers, Minn.; grandchild­ren, Jenna, Jace, Sara and Anna; sister Rita (David) Kaupp of Gregory, S.D.; brothers David (Ellen) Fuhrman of Marian, S.D. and Ray Fuhrman of Wisc.; sister-in-law Jean Fuhrman of Elkhorn; brother-in-law Chuck Davis of Naper; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
