Wolves put together solid individual performanc­es at North Central Invite

BASSETT - The Twin Loup track team competed hard at the reschedule­d North Central Invite on April 13 at Rock County High School in Bassett. The Wolves boys team finished in fourth place with 41 points and the girls were 10th with 20 points.

The main scorer for the Twin Loup girls was Elsie Ottun. The sophomore was second in the long jump, with a mark of 15’01.50, and was third in the triple jump with a jump of 30’07.50.

Also scoring in two events was Breanna Reinke. She was fifth in the shot put with a throw of 29’08.50 and was fifth in the discus with a toss of 87’09.

The 4x100 team of Alexis Mauler, Cassidy Grint, Melissa Slagle, and Elsie Ottun did just enough to earn a sixthplace finish and another point to the Wolves score. They crossed the line in a time of 58.95.

The Twin Loup boys found most of their success on the day in the field events.

A big point scorer for the team was the pole vault competitio­n where both Keaton Dowse and Slate Micheel earned medals. The pair finished in a tie for fourth place by both going out at a height of 9’00.

Daniel Folkers took home two medals in both the high jump and the triple jump. The senior was fourth in the high jump at 5’06 and was fourth in the

triple jump with a mark of 36’11.

Nolan Osborn also pulled out a medal in the triple jump. He grabbed sixth place with a jump of 36’00.

On the track, the Wolves strongest event was the 4x800 meter relay. The team of Daniel Folkers, Nolan Osborn, Hector Estrada, and Keegan Strohl ran a 9:52.96.

Twin Loup competed at the Overton Invite on April 20. Results from that meet will be posted in the April 29 Custer County Chief.
