Ansley Public Schools Board of Education Regular Board Meeting October 11, 2021 7:30 PM

The Ansley Public School Board met in a Regular Session on October 11, 2021. Board Vice President Bailey called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM and verified compliance with LB 898 Open Meeting Law. The following board members were in attendance: Absent: Pete Cunningham, Tim Loy, Present: Rod Amsberry, Jaimee Bailey, Derek Clay, Danielle Ostrand. Others in attendance were Gordon Goodman, Heidi Fessler, Jeanne Rapp, and Garrod Fernau.

Notice of the meeting was given in advance by posting in five (5) public places: Flatwater Bank, the Custer County Chief, the Post Office, and the Ansley Public School and on the Ansley Public School website at ansleynebraska.org. Availability of the agenda was communicated in advance thereof to the Board President and Board members of this meeting. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the public.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.

Derek Clay moved and Rod Amsberry seconded to approve the Motion to excuse Pete Cunningham and Tim Loy from the meeting due to prior committments.. This motion passed.

the consent agenda as follows: Approval of the October 11, 2021 regular meeting agenda; approve minutes from the September 29, 2021 Policy Committee meeting; approve minutes of the September 13, 2021 regular meeting; approve minutes of the 2021-22 Budget Hearing on September 13, 2021; approve minutes of the Final Tax Request for 2021-22 on September 13, 2021; accept the resignation of Jeanne Rapp as of February 1, 2022.. This motion passed.

Derek Clay moved and Rod Amsberry seconded to approve the Motion to approve the October 2021 claims in the amount of $51,113.88.. This motion passed.

Mr. Fernau reported that the Ansley Public School will meet all the NDE requirements for Americanism.

Mrs. Fessler updated the board on the work being done by staff to align curriculum to state standards.

Mr. Goodman presented a condensed version of the Strategic Plan Framework by NASB. This version has been reworked by Pete Cunningham, Mr. Goodman, and Mrs. Fessler.

Derek Clay moved and Rod Amsberry seconded to approve the Motion to approve the following policies as read and reviewed: 3041 - Crisis Team Duties; 3042 Construction Management at Risk Contracts; 3043 Design Build Contracts; 3044 - Incidental or De Minimis Use of Public Resources; 3045 - Use of Sniffer Dogs; 3046 - Animals at School; 3047 - Data Breach Response; 3048 Communicable Disease; 3049 - Drones and Unmanned Aircraft; 3050 Technology in the Classroom; 3052 - Leasing Personal Property; 3053 Nondiscrimination; 3057 Title IX.. This motion passed.

Topics included Parent-Teacher Conference summary; Teacher In-Service; COVID update; Staff Professional Development; and end of Quarter/Fall Break.

Mr. Goodman presented his Superintendent report which included the following topics: November 11 assembly, Alicap Safety tour, State School Boards, A-L Coop joint meeting, and the November board meeting.

Mr. Goodman discussed the possible changes that will be made to the school calendar in December, January, and March.
