John Lewis Harmon, 87, of Broken Bow, Neb., died Sunday, March 27, 2022 at the Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow.

John was born Feb. 9, 1935 at Broken Bow to Ira and Margaret (Linder) Harmon. He grew up on a farm near Ansley. He received his education at Ansley, graduating in 1954.

He enlisted in the Army in 1955 and served three years. He was stationed in Germany for two years of his enlistment.

He married Lillian May Leveringto­n on Feb. 18, 1961 at Broken Bow. John worked at Arrow Seed in Broken Bow for 45 years.

He enjoyed his grandchild­ren and great-grandson, fishing, bowling and watching sports, especially the Huskers. After retirement he enjoyed playing pool at the Pioneer Center; going for coffee Monday through Friday, weather permitting; and his cat, Snoopy.

Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Anna and Scott Feddersen of Kearney, Margaret Harmon of Broken Bow and Tammy Alexander of Omaha; son John Harmon of Broken Bow; six grandchild­ren Rachel (Sean) Stahly, Jason Feddersen, Rebekah Feddersen, Haley (Michael) McLaughlin, Skylar Alexander and Paige Alexander; and one great-grandson Easton McLaughlin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lillian; son Thomas Eugene; two brothers Harold Harmon and Cloyd D. (Pete) Harmon.

Funeral services were April 1 at 11 a.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary with Roger Sloan officiatin­g, with visitation two hours prior to service. The service was livestream­ed at www.govierbrot­hers.com. Burial with Military Honors was in the Broken Bow Cemetery.
