Litchfield man on ticket for Lt. Governor
LITCHFIELD - Theresa Thibodeau, Republican candidate for governor, announced Trent Loos as her running mate on March 31.
Loos is an Ag producer, radio host and activist. He and his wife, Kelli, have lived in the Litchfield area for the past 19 years. They have three daughters - Libbi, a Registered Dietician at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City; Lindsi, a freshman Health Science major at Hastings College; and Landri a junior at Loup City High School.
Loos has found that he and Thibodeau both fully agree on every issue they have discussed.
“With her history in education, we share a passion for implementing proper education, as opposed to indoctrination, for our kids,” he said. “How we restructure the property tax problem while improving education is challenge but it is our top priority.”
Increasing transparency in state government is also a priority. “I continue to see a tremendous level of disconnect between what the folks in leadership think and what the citizens of the state are really going through,” he said.
About Thibodeau, he stated, “I honestly could not believe a mother and small business owner from Omaha and I could see the challenges and solutions from the same perspective.” He went on to say, “I would add that I believe we in Nebraska have it better than any other state in the nation right now but if we don’t elect the right person to be Governor in 2022, we may find ourselves in a horrible position.”
Making sure all of Nebraska is represented is a concern for Loos. “Traveling in western Nebraska the past week with Thibodeau, it was apparent that, people in western Nebraska feel like the Eastern half of the state does not even know or care that they are there,” he said. “We in rural Nebraska tend to look at Omaha and Lincoln as just a problem. Our partnership of rural and urban backgrounds helps bring Nebraska together in order to work as one state, 93 counties strong.”
