BROKEN BOW - The Broken Bow School board approved contracts for two new teachers at Monday evening’s meeting. Josh Cyboron is teaching Special Education, having graduating with his teaching degree in December. Haley Savala will teach Life Skills beginning the 2023-2024 school year.

The board accepted the resignation of Carolyn Troxel, Middle School Language Arts Teacher.

Troxel is retiring after 23 years with Broken Bow schools.

Superintendent Darren Tobey said all fobs for the weight room will be deactivated due to abuse of access. “We will redo the agreement and re-activate the fobs for members,” Tobey said. Through security camera video and fob access records, the school has records of the weight room being accessed with fobs assigned to people who are no longer active members.

The board and the teachers have reached a tentative agreement on negotiations for the 2023-2024 school year. It is hoped the agreement can be approved at the March board meeting.
