Jill Davis
Jill Smith Davis, 49, of Ansley, Neb. passed away surrounded by family on May 22, 2023, at Kearney Regional Hospital. She was born Aug. 31, 1973 in Sargent to Al and Ruth Smith.
Jill attended and graduated from Sargent Public Schools. In 1992, she welcomed her first child, Quincy. After graduation she attended Grand Island Community College.
On April 22, 1995, Jill was married to Doug Davis of Sargent, who embraced Quincy as his own. From this marriage came Brayden Davis,
Jill’s second and youngest child.
While Jill’s marriage to Doug ended, Jill found her fiancé, Matt Lane, and lived with him in the Ansley/Westerville area. Jill was a grandma to two beautiful grandchildren Vivian and Jaxon.
Jill was known for her infectious smile and welcoming personality. She enjoyed watching Husker volleyball, getting her nails done, entertaining friends and listening to music.
She was the owner of KOs bar in Ansley, where
she welcomed patrons with her warm smile and endearing personality. She was passionate about her work and took great pride in providing a welcoming atmosphere for her customers.
Jill’s legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and joy, and the countless memories she created for her family and friends. She will forever be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
Jill is survived by her children Quincy Young (Liza) of Lincoln and Brayden Davis (Jordyn Freeman) of Kearney; parents Al and Ruth Smith of Sargent; fiancé Matt Lane of Ansley; two grandchildren (Vivian and Jaxon); four siblings Cami (Tony) Eynetich of Grand Island, Amy (Mike) Kozeal of Sargent, Steve (Teal) Smith of Hastings and Nate (Lisa) Smith of Hastings; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Jill was preceded in death by her grandparents Steve and Nellie Smith and Tom and Gertrude Osentowski.
Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, May 26 at 10:30 a.m. at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary’s Catholic Church in Sargent with Father Jim Hunt officiating. The service was livestreamed at govierbrothers.com. Burial followed at the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Visitation was Thursday, May 25, 5-7 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary’s Catholic Church in Sargent
In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to Sargent Swimming Pool.
