MERNA and LITCHFIELD

- Broken Bow was one of four local schools with graduations this past Saturday. Anselmo-Merna graduated 17; Litchfield four; and Arcadia five.

At Anselmo-Merna, Valedictorian Adyson Priest said she was proud to be a part of the A-M Class of 2024. She included Rudyard Kipling’s poem, “If,” as part of her message. She concluded by saying, “We have a lot of life to live. May we live it well.”

Karsee McGinn, salutatorian, spoke of the competitive streak of the class whether it be during spelling, recesses or Quiz Bowl. No matter how competitive, though, she said they always stuck up for each other.

“Take your competitive drive and newly enlightened minds and go out and make a difference,” Karsee told her classmates.

The A-M Class Song, “Five More Minutes,” by Scotty McCreery, played while seniors presented the class flower, red roses, to loved ones. The class chose the following as their motto, “With every ending is a new beginning.”

At Litchfield High School, the Valedictorian was Jacob Heapy and the Salutatorian was Ashton Behmerwohld. The Litchfield Class of 2024 presented flowers to “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus and left the ceremony to “Good Old Days” by Macklemore and Kesha.

This coming weekend will see graduations at Ansley, Arnold, Callaway, Loup City, Loup County, Sandhills, Sargent and SEM.
