Homer-happy Jays pound Red Sox

Teoscar Hernández hit a pair of three-run homers over the Green Monster at Fenway Park — two of Toronto’s eight longballs — and Marcus Semien extended his road hitting streak to 26 games as the Blue Jays routed the Boston Red Sox 18-4 on Sunday.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette, Lourdes Gurriel Jr., Cavan Biggio, Rowdy Tellez and Semien also went deep for the Blue Jays, a day after they belted five homers in a 7-2 victory. Guerrero’s was his major league-leading 21st.

Bichette had four of Toronto’s season-high 18 hits.

Robbie Ray (4-2) struck out 10 over six innings, giving up three runs, four hits and three walks.

PADRES 7, METS 3 » Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a tiebreakin­g grand slam in the seventh inning and Manny Machado followed with a homer as visiting San Diego beat New York to stop a four-game slide.

Chris Paddack (3-5) struck out nine over six innings and Tommy Pham hit a leadoff homer to help the Padres prevent a weekend sweep.

San Diego drew three walks in the seventh from a tiring Jeurys Familia (2-1), who had Jurickson Profar down 1-2 before losing him on a free pass that loaded the bases with two outs. Familia then walked Pham on four straight balls, forcing in the tying run, and was pulled after throwing 41 pitches over 1 2/3 innings.

Jacob Barnes entered and Tatis sent a 2-1 pitch to left field for his third career slam and second this season.,

Kyle Schwarber became the sixth player in Washington Nationals/Montreal Expos franchise history to homer in both the first and second innings, driving in four runs in a win over San Francisco.

Joe Ross allowed five hits in eight innings to win.

Schwarber hit his seventh career leadoff homer, his second in as many days, and hit a three-run drive in the second off Johnny Cueto (4-3) for a 4-0 lead.

Aaron Nola allowed three hits and struck out nine, leading Philadelph­ia over struggling New York for a two-game sweep that moved the Phillies back over .500.

Odubel Herrera, Jean Segura and J.T. Realmuto combined to go 7 for 13 with a double, a triple, four runs scored and five RBIs. Philadelph­ia has won four straight games and three straight series.

Yankees starter Domingo Germán (4-4) fell behind 4-0 by the second inning, a day after Jameson Taillon trailed 4-0 in the first.

Riley reached base five times, going 3 for 3 with a walk and getting hit by a pitch. Ender Inciarte also homered for Atlanta, his solo shot coming one inning after he entered the game as an injury replacemen­t for Ronald Acuña Jr., who departed with what the Braves said was right pectoral soreness.

The Twins’ Michael Pineda (3-4) left after four innings due to a reoccurren­ce of right forearm soreness that first bothered him June 1. He allowed three runs and six hits — raising his totals to 10 runs over 11 1/3 innings in his last three starts.

Kyle Tucker homered for the second straight game and had three hits for the Astros.

Olson hit solo shots in the third and fifth for his second two-homer game this season and 10th of his career. Matt Chapman also connected to back Bassitt (7-2), who gave up two runs in 5-2/3 innings.

The Cubs have won five straight and 15 of 20 to remain in a tie with Milwaukee atop the NL Central.

The teams combined for only six hits, four by the Cubs.

St. Louis has dropped three straight and 11 of 13 to fall one game below .500 at 32-33.
