No. 2 Stanford women downed by Washington

Elle Ladine scored 21 points and Dalayah Daniels made two key free throws with 8 seconds left, helping Washington knock off No. 2 Stanford 72-67 on Sunday in Seattle.

Washington (13-9, 5-7 Pac12) closed the game with a 9-2 run. Lauren Schwartz made two foul shots before Ladine put the Huskies in front with a layup with 1:41 left.

Haley Jones scored 18 points for Stanford (22-3, 10-2). Cameron Brink finished with 14 points and six rebounds.

The Cardinal led 17-8 after one quarter, but the Huskies rallied, closing the first half with a 10-0 run.

Brink's three-point play in the final seconds of the third quarter gave the Cardinal a 54-53 lead heading into the fourth.

NO. 1 SOUTH CAROLINA 81, NO. 5 UCONN 77 >> Aliyah Boston scored 23 of her 26 points in the second half, including 14 in the fourth quarter, to help the Gamecocks beat the host Huskies.

South Carolina (23-0) has won 29 consecutiv­e games since losing to Kentucky in the SEC Tournament title game last year. The Gamecocks have also won four of the past five meetings with the Huskies, including a victory in the NCAA championsh­ip game last season.

Boston finished with 11 rebounds for the 76th double-double of her career.

Aaliyah Edwards led UConn (21-3) with 25 points.

NO. 3 LSU 72, TEXAS A&M 66 >> Angel Reese had 26 points and 22 rebounds to help the Tigers win on the road against the Aggies (6-15, 1-10 SEC).

Alexis Morris added 22 points to help LSU (23-0, 11-0) remain undefeated ahead of next week's showdown with South Carolina. NO. 7 UTAH 100, OREGON 92 >> Alissa Pili scored a seasonhigh 30 points and the Utes moved into a tie with Stanford for first place in the Pac-12 with a win over the host Ducks.

Jenna Johnson added 19 points as Utah (20-2, 10-2) shot 62.3% from the field.

Endyia Rogers scored 35 to lead Oregon (14-9, 5-7).

Men

NO. 3 HOUSTON 81, TEMPLE 65 >> Jarace Walker scored 23 points and the visiting Cougars earned retributio­n against the Owls.

Temple failed in its bid for a second upset after it toppled the Cougars from No. 1 in the AP poll with a 56-55 win last month in Houston.

The Cougars (22-2, 10-1 AAC) are now poised to regain the top spot in the poll. No. 1 Purdue lost to Indiana on Saturday and No. 2 Tennessee lost to Florida, leaving an opening for Houston to ascend to No. 1 today.

Khalif Battle led Temple (14-10, 8-3) with 24 points. UTAH 61, CALIFORNIA 46 >> Lazar Stefanovic had 15 points and six assists, Branden Carlson had 12 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks and the host Utes (16-9, 9-5 Pac-12) handed the Golden Bears (3-20. 2-10) their seventh straight loss, COLORADO 84, STANFORD 64 >> Tristan da Silva scored 25 points and KJ Simpson added 21 as the host Buffaloes snapped the Cardinal's five-game win streak.

Colorado (14-11, 6-8 Pac12) has won back-to-back games following a string of five losses in a six-game span.

Brandon Angel led Stanford (10-13, 4-8) with 14 points.
