Re “Clearly Eastman hurt our democracy” (Dec. 14):

I look at John Eastman as a hero and martyr trying to prevent the destruction of democracy.

Due to the election interference done by social media tech giants influenced by the FBI demands and the sinister censorship nationwide, Joe Biden won by the least informed electorate in the history of the United States. As a result of rigged elections we have lost our sovereignty as a nation on our southern border. Now we have a couple of wars killing all forms of life. Cultural, financial and emotional strife are dividing “we the people” into battling tribes. God bless John Eastman and all the others that have suffered the persecution of our government for voicing an opinion.

We could use the already authorized bonds to repair dams and build more reservoirs but that would require ignoring the pleas of environmentalists, the same people that are now complaining about this “new” project. When will Sacramento stop spending money they don't have and concentrate near term on reducing the debt we have incurred by wastefulness?

Children's flavored medicine and a bad taste

I somehow survived childhood in Missouri although it was permitted to supply me with medicine that did not taste too bad. That is still OK with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the California Legislature. But Gov. Newsom issued a decree to forbid such behavior. So parents in California are uniquely forbidden such medications for their children after a century or two of safe use. We must wonder if parents must now take their children to restaurants in Napa to help the medicine go down.

Newport Beach on other countries for crude oil, which is normally delivered by tanker ships on the Pacific. Chairman Xi has learned the lessons of history. If China goes to war with the United States, the U.S. Navy will immediately stop all oil shipments via the Pacific and elsewhere. This action would be identical to the U.S. actions in WWII, where prior to Pearl Harbor, the Navy blockaded Japan from overseas oil sources. This action resulted in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor to cripple the Navy fleet and eliminate the capability to blockade Japan. — Gordon Osborne,

Elon Musk's antisemitic post on the X platform

Re “Musk lashes out at advertisers” (Dec. 1): The richest and arguably most innovative person in the world endorsed an antisemitic post. He then berated the advertisers who abandoned the X platform, even though he called his post “the worst and dumbest thing I've ever done.” Later he apologized only for his choice of words, not for the fact that it was blatantly antisemitic, proving it's what he truly believes. In a fit of twisted logic he suggests that people not judge him, and instead think of the wonderful cars and satellites he's made. He indicates if X fails it will be the fault of the advertisers' decision to leave the company. Given his endorsement of and participation in hate speech, the sinking of X would be a blessing.
