RTD pro­poses county ser­vice changes

Feed­back on pro­posed route changes will be gath­ered dur­ing vir­tual pub­lic meet­ings

The Re­gional Trans­porta­tion Dis­trict is host­ing vir­tual pub­lic meet­ings to gather feed­back on pro­posed route changes, in­clud­ing routes in Boul­der County.

The pro­posed changes in­clude: sus­pend­ing ser­vice be­tween the Look­out Road/

Gun­park stop and Heather­wood/devon­shire stop on Route 205; re­duc­ing week­day ser­vice to hourly mid­day and re­duc­ing week­end hours to 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. for clearly re­al­ize that while an apol­ogy is an im­por­tant first step, but it is only that on a long jour­ney to re­build mu­tual trust and re­spect.”

Board Trea­surer Todd Wieseler asked Dirr to de­scribe what the depart­ment could look like if he con­tin­ued as chief.

“We some­how have to get to a level where we trust each other and re­spect each other,” Dirr said. “My goal

Dirr has worked for the dis­trict for about 30 years.

The meet­ing, which be­gan at 7 p.m., was still go­ing at 9:45 p.m., and the board had not made a de­ci­sion. route LD, which serves Long­mont and Lafayette.

The pro­posal also cuts ser­vice hours for Route 228 to 8 a.m.- 9 p.m. week­days, 8 a.m.- 8 p.m. Satur­days and 8 a.m.- 6 p.m. Sun­days due to low rid­er­ship. RTD’S Flexride is avail­able in Louisville, Su­pe­rior and Broom­field for ear­lier ser­vice ac­cord­ing to the RTD pro­posal.

Pub­lic meet­ings will be at 10:30 a.m. Satur­day and at noon and 6 p.m. Mon­day. The 6 p.m. Mon­day ses­sion will be in Span­ish.
