Univer­sity of Colorado Boul­der brought in $613.9 mil­lion in re­search fund­ing in fis­cal year 2020, in­clud­ing for projects that stud­ied ado­les­cent brain devel­op­ment, elec­tri­fy­ing trans­porta­tion and how odors guide be­hav­ior.

Fund­ing agen­cies in­cluded NASA, the Na­tional Science Foun­da­tion, Depart­ment of Com­merce, Na­tional In­sti­tutes of Health and Depart­ment of De­fense.

The year’s fund­ing was a de­crease from fis­cal year 2019, when CU Boul­der brought in $631 mil­lion in re­search fund­ing.

The Univer­sity of Colorado sys­tem as a whole was awarded $1.41 bil­lion in re­search fund­ing in fis­cal year 2020.
