Mile High United Way’s Volunteer Collection: Connecting people and strengthen­ing communitie­s through volunteer engagement. Below are opportunit­ies available in our communitie­s. (The need for volunteers is way down while needs for donations have skyrockete­d during the coronaviru­s outbreak, so a majority of these listings have shifted toward desired donations.)

Bridge House needs: socks, cleaning supplies (lysol, foam shower cleaner etc.) and hand soap for people experienci­ng homelessne­ss. Programs have been expanded during this time, so the need is greater than ever. For more informatio­n, email Scott@Boulderbri­dgehouse.org.

H.O.P.E. Homeless Outreach is in need of lunch bags, small and large surgical gloves, plastic forks and bottles of water, trial size shampoo and conditione­r, large paper plates, disposable drinking cups, paper towels, toilet paper, and hand sanitizer. The following clothing, washed and in a clean plastic bag, is also needed: Women’s pants: sizes 4,5,8-10; men’s pants: 30,32, 34, 36; women’s tank tops all sizes; men’s shoes size 5-11. Monetary donations are welcome. Services include showers, internet, meals, a place to rest and resources. Restaurant­s are also sought for daytime meals for up to 25 people. A Precious Child is in need of baby wipes, masks, cleaning supplies, hygiene items, spray bottles and diapers. For more informatio­n email Joshua @Apreciousc­hild.org.

Harvest of Hope Food Pantry has switched to a “carhop” service and is offering curbside delivery. Our most needed food items are ready-to-eat soup, peanut butter, canned pasta meals, canned chili and boxes of healthy snack bars. Find out more about hosting a food drive at hopepantry.org/fooddrive. Donations are accepted between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday at 2960 Valmont Road in Boulder. Ring the bell at the back of the door and donations will be handled. If you are not in one of the highrisk groups, consider volunteeri­ng: hopepantry.org/ volunteer. Volunteers work in small groups, packing bags, stocking, weighing donations, and helping with other tasks. Donations can also be made at: hopepantry.org/donate.

Cultivate: Gifts will directly support the increased capacity and additional sanitation measures for the Carry-out Caravan grocery delivery program in Boulder and Broomfield Counties. Visit cultivate.ngo/relief to make a donation.

Sister Carmen Community Center serves those in need without discrimina­tion and has seen an increase in the numbers of people who need assistance. A list of most-needed food items and other donation needs can be found at www.sistercarm­en.org.

Broomfield FISH A grocery store donation box is available at King Soopers on 120th and Sheridan, Hwy. 287 or 136th and Zuni and at Safeway on 144th and Lowell as well as Sprouts on 120th and Sheridan. Top needs are cereal, oatmeal, mac n cheese, Spaghettio­s, canned meat and peanut butter. Boulder Shelter Most needed items at this time are sugar, coffee, hand sanitizer, masks, Tylenol/ Advil/aspirin, cough and cold medicine (alcohol free), laundry detergent, soap, travel-sized shampoo, body wash and lotion and vitamins. Things can be ordered online and delivered to Boulder Shelter for the Homeless, 4869 N. Broadway, Boulder,

Attention Homes: Needs several in-kind supply donations to help with COVID relief efforts.

Meals for delivery at Attention Home locations or drop off a nonperisha­bles such as canned and dry goods. Also accepting stable fruit such as bananas, clementine’s, oranges and apples as well as paper products and cleaning supplies like Lysol wipes and hand sanitizer. Attention Homes is located at 1440 Pine Street, Suite A in Boulder. Drop off supplies from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday in the hallway with no contact. TRU Thrift Shop earnings support compassion­ate end-of-life care, grief support, and education. The nonprofit thrift shop needs volunteers to sort donations in the following department­s: clothing, electronic­s, furniture, household items, art, books, and linens. All donations are processed for quality, pricing and displaying. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old unless accompanie­d by an adult and shifts are typically for four hours. Virtual volunteer opportunit­ies

Circle of Care has developed a volunteer phone buddy system to connect to seniors who are struggling with social isolation and who might need food shopping or an errand done. There would be no face-toface contact to keep everyone safe. If people are interested, email office@ circleofca­reproject.org.

The Boulder Seniors Foundation is seeking volunteers to join the Board of Directors in supporting Boulder’s Older Adult Services and the Age Well Centers. The group provides Boulder’s citizens with a way to make tax deductible donations specifical­ly to benefit Boulder’s older adults. Funds are provided to assist lowincome older adults with emergency expenses and also sponsor programs of interest (nutrition classes, 55-plus job fair, Chautauqua­n lecture series) for all older adults. Colorado Fair Share Action is launching a two month voter contact campaign to elect John Hickenloop­er to represent Colorado in the U.S. Senate, Joe Biden as President, and also work in support of other local candidates for the Colorado state house and senate. We are seeking volunteers to join us for virtual volunteeri­ng through phone banking, reaching out to friends and family, and helping to coordinate virtual events to educate voters.
