Boulder County reports 34 new cases, no deaths

Boulder County Public Health repor ted 34 new COVID-19 cases, three new hospitaliz­ations and no new deaths on Monday.

The 34 new cases bring the county’s total cases to 18,633. The three new hospitaliz­ations bring the county’s total to 532, with 26 residents currently hospitaliz­ed with coronaviru­s. The number of deaths remains unchanged at 245. The county’s seven day positivity average is 3.8%.

Boulder County also repor ted Monday that there have been 25,167 Boulder County residents who have received their first COVID-19 vaccinatio­n dose and 24,285 people who have been fully vaccinated. A total of

49,452 coronaviru­s doses have been given in Boulder County.

The University of Colorado Boulder did not update its dashboard Monday. During testing on Friday, the university reported that there were seven positive tests found. There were also 146 diagnostic test and 1,106 monitoring tests conducted. There were 11 campus isolation spaces in use, which is 2% of the campus’ available isolation space. Since Jan. 4, there have been 320 total positive results and 4,866 diagnostic tests and 27,613 monitoring tests completed.

The Boulder Valley School District reported 12 active cases and 160 quarantine­s among 135 students and 25 staff, according to the district’s online dashboard.

In the St. Vrain Valley School District there are 30 active cases among 22 students and eight staff, the district’s online dashboard showed. Since the start of the school year, there have been 823 cases among 597 students and 226 staf f.

Data updated Monday shows that of the county’s cases, 6,975 have been reported in Boulder, and 6,384 have been reported in Longmont. There have been 1,511 cases in Lafayette, 825 in Louisville, 355 in Superior, 444 in Erie, 67 in L yons,

24 in Nederland and 1,587 in unincorpor­ated Boulder County. Cases have been confirmed in 77 people experienci­ng homelessne­ss.

The rate of infection for Boulder residents is 6,551 per 100,000 people, data shows. In Longmont, the rate of infection is 6,608.9 per 100,000. In Lafayette, the rate is 4,929.4; in Louisville, the rate is 3,965.2; in L yons, the rate is 3,273.1; in Erie, the rate is 3,754.4; in Superior, the rate is 2,714.5; in Nederland, the rate is 1,558.4; and in unincorpor­ated Boulder County, the rate is 3,623.5.

Statewide, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environmen­t reported that there have been 421,294 cases. Among the cases, there have been 5,893 deaths, and of those 5,723 deaths due to COVID-19. There have been 23,183 people hospitaliz­ed.

Of Colorado’s more than 5.7 million population, there have been 2,537,701 people tested.
