Que será, Syrah. Whatever will be, Syrah, and in this case it would be this darling from Kilnker Brick. The Farrah Syrah Lodi is named after the daughter of Steve and Lori Felton, founders of the Klinker Brick winery and fifth generation wine growers in the Lodi region. Farrah carries her family’s passion for producing exceptional wines and managing the land and vines they come from. The whole team at Klinker Brick made Lodi history last year as their Grenache Blanc hit Wine Spectator’s Top 100! My selection today, Farrah Syrah Lodi 2017 showcases that this ‘wine family’ is doing all the right things and this rich red wine with ribbons of fantastic dark fruits that mingle with anise, pepper, and spice delivers far above its shelf price. Have a blast peeling back so many more layers as you imbibe this beauty that is aged in new French Oak. So, when asked if you would like another glass, the answer is always, Sí, ¿cómo no? – Sure, why not!?

All the way from Southern Italy I give you this week a little antipasto treat; bruschetta! There are many variations of bruschetta from its ingredients to the way it’s pronounced. Orti D’italia makes a delicious and authentic line of bruschetta working directly with farmers in Gioiosa Jonica where nature is generous all year round and ingredients are always harvested at the peak of their flavors. Available in three delicious flavors; garlic with tomato and chili, basil pesto, and caponata, a blend of eggplant, tomato, and black olives, these bruschettas are perfect as a snack or appetizer and pair well with a glass of Soave or Sangiovese. Usually, $5.99 per 5.3oz container, all Orti D’italia bruschettas will be on sale this week for only $3.99! Cheers and Bon Appetit!
