Man rescued after fall
Boulder County crews were able to rescue a man who attempted suicide by jumping of f a rock face near Royal Arch Wednesday.
The 24-year-old told rescuers that he climbed into the area to commit suicide, but called for rescue after an approximately 25- to 40-foot fall.
He initially told rescuers that he was uninjured, but was stuck and required help to get out. Rescuers hiked in and found the man had sustained serious injuries. Crews provided first aid and stabilized him for evacuation.
The man was put in a litter and a technical evacuation was conducted to transpor t him back to the trailhead. He was then taken by ambulance to a hospital.
The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, city of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks and American Medical Response all responded to the call.
