Techstars, Minnesota Twins team up for sportstech accelerator
Techstars, the Boulder-based startup accelerator, is partnering with Major League Baseball’s Minnesota Twins to begin a new sports and entertainment technology accelerator.
Applications will be accepted for the inaugural class on May 10, with the 13-week program running from November 2021 through February 2022, according to a Techstars news release.
“Partnering with the Twins to influence and lead change in the way people and communities embrace experiences — on and of f the field — is something Techstars is ver y excited about,” Techstars general manager Nancy Wolf f said in the release. “Techstars is a proven and power ful engine that drives access and growth to startups and entrepreneurs across the world. As the first accelerator of its kind in Minnesota spor ts, this is a unique oppor tunity to join the Techstars and Twins networks for a powerful program.”
Participants in the accelerator will be part of “reinventing what a baseball brand can be and do, by helping identify innovations in the sports and enter tainment space that improve the quality, access and sustainability of experiences for current and future fans,” the release said.
