Xcel names new president for Colo. operations
Xcel Energy Inc. (Nasdaq: XEL) has named Robert Kenney to the position of president of Xcel Energy in Colorado, succeeding Alice Jackson in the role. Jackson will be assuming a new role as senior vice president, System Strategy, and chief planning officer for Xcel Energy.
In her new role, Jackson will lead the company’s planning to help the company meet its net-zeenergy goals by 2050.
“This innovative approach to strategic planning is transformational for our industry, and Alice is the perfect person to lead the charge as a proven business leader who has engaged employees, communities and stakeholders to deliver on our nation leading clean energy vision,” Bob Frenzel, chairman, president and CEO of Xcel Energy, said in a statement.
Kenney brings more than 30 years of experience to the company. He leads Pacific Gas and Electric Co.’s regulatory strategy. He also handles the company’s governmental affairs and community relations efforts.

Prior to PG&E, Kenney chaired the Missouri Public Service Commission, where he led a 190person agency. Kenney joins Xcel Energy on June 6.
