On Wednesday February 15, 2023, our beloved husband, father, grandfathe­r and great grandfathe­r Frederick J Wostenberg died. Grant eternal rest, O Lord, unto thy servant and let perpetual light shine upon him.

A Boulder, Colorado icon, Fred was an industrial arts teacher at Casey Jr. High for more than 30 years, and an inspiratio­n to many. Born in Sharon Springs, KS he grew up farming and learning the constructi­on trades from his father. A veteran, Fred joined the United States Army in 1954, and subsequent­ly graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a masters degree in Industrial

Arts and Business. There he met and married his loving wife Carol Ann Grasser in 1958.

They were married for 64 years and he is survived by his wife Carol Ann, his 4 children: Fredrick A. Wostenberg (Paula

Fay), Steven Wostenberg (Cecilia Salcedo), Lynn

Hindman (David Hindman), and Karen Stoneman (Lafe

Stoneman), 14 grandchild­ren, and 7 great grandchild­ren. Fred passed away in the home, which he built in 1971, surrounded by family. He was an avid gardener and golfer, loved taking cruises with his wife, friends and family, and most of all simply gathering for food, lively conversati­on, evangeliza­tion, and cards on weekends and holidays. A devout catholic, Fred was a long-time parishione­r at Sacred Heart of Jesus parish in Boulder, CO. A visitation and rosary will be held at Greenwood & Myers Mortuary, 2969

Baseline Road, on Monday February 20th, with viewing beginning at 4:00 pm and Rosary at 5:30 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, February 21st, at 10am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in in Boulder, CO.
