A Precious Child provides essential resources to children and families in need, empowering them to reach their full potential. Volunteers are needed to lend a hand in the Donation Center, where they’ll help process inkind goods, such as clothing, baby gear and hygiene products. Or, volunteers can contribute to the Empowermen­t Resource Center Store as a store merchandis­er or check-out clerk, ensuring a dignified shopping experience for all clients. Boulder County Community Correction­s

Board members needed. Make a difference for offenders and the Boulder County community: threeyear term, 20 hours per month with 7:30-9:30 a.m. meetings on second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. Must be at least 18 years old, a Boulder County resident and be able to read case materials and make recommenda­tions for the bench on offender placement in halfway houses as alternativ­es to incarcerat­ion. Boulder County Community Justice Services

This nonprofit is seeking volunteers or interns to connect clients required to perform community service with organizati­ons in the community needing helping hands. Case management includes meeting with clients to match their skills with nonprofit community-based programs, monitoring the caseload and hours of clients, updating computer records, completing paperwork upon completion, working closely with CS staff, the courts, probation and getting to know community organizati­ons. Volunteers must be 21 and commit to nine months of volunteeri­ng eight-24 hours per week, Monday-friday in person at Boulder or Longmont court buildings. Boulder County Jail — Creative writing/ communicat­ion instructor

Help inmates transition successful­ly back to society by teaching writing and communicat­ion skills in the Boulder County Jail Education & Transition (JET) program. Teach willing participan­ts one class per week in an ongoing capacity. Instructor­s must be 21 or older. Background check and fingerprin­ting are required. 1 year commitment. Help clients transition back into the community by offering basic skills courses. If you have experience teaching life skills, please consider this vital role for men and women clients in our Jail Education & Transition program (JET). The minimum age is 21. Many jail clients have children and seek help and skills in communicat­ing with them and figuring out how to move forward when they are released. An interest in helping jailed parents learn and navigate parenting skills, and experience teaching, makes applicants a good candidate for instructin­g willing participan­ts in the Jail Education & Transition (JET) program. The Boulder County Area Agency on Aging and other organizati­ons are sharing or offering the following resources for older adults in the county. Additional­ly, because local resources have been subject to changes daily, officials ask anyone who wishes to use a named resource below to call ahead to get further informatio­n and assure that it is still operationa­l.

These programs provide a limited amount of food for individual­s or families during times of personal crisis, or for people who have no food or can’t afford to purchase food at retail costs, the BCAAA said. These are programs that acquire food products through donations, canned food drives, food bank programs or direct purchase and distribute the food to people who are in emergency situations, according to the BCAAA. Some pantries deliver food to people whose disabiliti­es or illnesses make it difficult for them to leave home. To practice social distancing, some pantries are leaving food outside of the building, so people are advised to call ahead.

These are programs that provide hot lunches on a regular basis to seniors and adults with disabiliti­es. Some programs are based on a suggested donation, while others may ask for payment based on a sliding scale, according to the BCAAA. A number of community lunches are now operating on a carry-out or delivery-only model. Those interested in using the resource are advised to call ahead for further informatio­n.
