Yolo Healthy Aging Alliance hosts town hall
What would it take for Yolo County to be a community for people of all ages to live and age in place, in other words, to become “Age-Friendly?” People of all ages are invited to attend a local community conversation on how best to implement the California Master Plan for Aging to create an agefriendly community in Yolo County.
The event series will include updates from elected officials on aging from their level of government, followed by the opportunity for attendees to ask the elected officials questions. Organizers will then review the 5 Bold Goals of the Master Plan for Aging, follow up on the 2019 senior town halls and then have smaller group discussions on how best to implement these goals in each community.
Each town hall will be held virtually via Zoom and will take place from 10 a.m. to noon a with call-in option available. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions of elected officials, provide their input, and discuss a vision for an age-friendly community. You may attend any town hall, regardless of where you live; however, each town hall will be focused on how to implement an age-friendly community in that specific city, so if you would like to speak on behalf of your community be sure to attend your city’s town hall.
