Woodland Fourth of July celebration
The city of Woodland will host multiple events in celebration of Independence Day on July 4, starting with the Woodland Chalk & Roll. The Chalk & Roll will start at the Woodland Farmer’s Market on First and Court Streets on June 26 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. where the city will distribute the first batch of chalk kits and t-shirts. Residents are encouraged to use the kits to decorate the sidewalks with chalk and decorate bikes, scooters, or wagons with “patriotic flair.”
After the initial Chalk & Roll, the city will be at the Woodland Public Library from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Ferns Park from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on June 28; at Pioneer Park from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on June 29; City Park from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on June 30; Charles Brooks Swim Center from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on July 1; Woodside Park from 6:30 to 8 p.m. July 2; and back at the Woodland Farmers Market from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on July 3.
Residents are encouraged to submit their designs and patriotic decorations to cityofwoodland.org/ FormCenter/Community-Services-7/IndependenceDay-Chalk-Murals-126 by July 5 for a chance to win prizes.
On July 4, the Woodland Professional Firefighters Association will be serving a pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. at Fire Station Number 3 at 1550 Springlake Court. Additionally, the Woodland Fire Support Branch will be rolling their antique trucks through Woodland neighborhoods beginning at 11 a.m. following the Santa Parade routes done in December 2020.
There will be no fireworks this year, but the city will be hosting a fireworks show on October 17 as part of Woodland’s sesquicentennial.
