Vote Reisig for DA

-

I am writing in support of our current district attorney, Jeff Reisig.

Jeff continues to provide an opportunity to young people who have seen the error in their impulsive actions and mistakes through his support of our mental health courts and drug diversion courts. He facilitates and endorses opportunities to convicted felons through diversion programs as an alternative to sending people to prison for crimes that were the result of mental health issues or drug addictions. He understands that people can change if provided the opportunity and environment to support better choices and lifestyles.

Jeff recognizes there are more effective methods for dealing with individuals who are not a fit for our prisons. While supporting individuals with an opportunity for change, he cautiously establishes a safety net for the community by promising strong and unwavering sentencing when attempts for individual change fail. Jeff is serious about crime and the impacts criminals have on our community. He is unwilling to compromise our safety but sees the benefits of offering second chances to those who deserve an opportunity to change.

Jeff isn’t soft on crime, but he does understand and embrace the belief that prison isn’t for everyone. He understands that once a young person has clearly turned his/her life around, they can be productive contributing members of our society. He recognizes the importance of permitting rehabilitated individuals to have their record expunged so the first 30 years of their life doesn’t have to predict their future. He knows that young people make mistakes and recognizes that many possess the desire and ability to change and become hard-working law-abiding citizens. Jeff provides and supports the platform to facilitate behavioral changes without compromising the safety of our community. I am pledging my vote and support to Jeff Reisig and encourage others to join me.
