Shooting Arrest: On Sept. 29 at 9:19p.m., Woodland Police were dispatched to the 900 block of Beamer Street for the report of an argument and shots being fired. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male adult wearing a bright orange shirt. Officers arrived on scene and heard several gunshots. They observed a Hispanic male adult wearing a bright orange shirt retreat into a residence where the shooting was occurring. A perimeter was set up and announceme­nts were being made for the occupants of the residence to surrender. The Yolo County Regional SWAT team responded to the scene to assist. The occupants were non-compliant for several hours. Early Sunday morning at 2a.m., two males exited the residence and were detained, one being Alfredo Mojica a 59-year-old Woodland resident. Mojica was identified as the suspect who fired a handgun. SWAT secured the location. Several spent .40 Caliber shell casings were located near the residence, and a .40 Caliber handgun. Although several people in the area were contacted, none had injuries.

Mojica was arrested and booked on charges of willful discharge of a firearm, resisting/delaying police officers, felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. This matter is still under investigat­ion and may result in additional charges.

HOST

HOST assisted by filling Patrol vacancies. Staffing for HOST was short due to officers taking time off.

HOST posted 17 camps and cleaned five camps. There were 13 contacts, four were offered services and none were accepted. HOST conducted seven patrols in the downtown area.
