Supes approve youth-focused proposals
During the last Yolo County Board of Supervisor's meeting, under the leadership of Supervisor Angel Barajas, a commendable $25,000 was earmarked specifically to fortify youth sports and facilities.
This strategic allocation reflects a dedicated commitment to addressing the diverse needs of the county's young residents, aiming to elevate their well-being and community engagement.

Projects directly benefiting Esparto, Knights Landing and Woodland:
Capay Valley American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO), a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering soccer opportunities for local children, secured a notable $8,000 grant. The funds are set to be directed towards scholarships for children from low-income households, covering registration costs, uniforms, tournaments and essential soccer resources. This strategic investment ensures that the organization can extend its operations throughout the year, providing a consistent and enriching soccer experience for children in the Capay Valley.
Friends of the Library, receiving an $8,000 grant for a public art sculpture destined for the Woodland Library. This artistic addition not only enhances the library's aesthetics but does so while preserving its historical charm. The infusion of art into public spaces contributes significantly to the cultural richness of the community. This collaborative effort with Dr. Mary Vixie Sandy and Supervisor Barajas promises to bring a touch of creativity to the heart of Woodland, creating an inviting space for residents to explore the world of literature and art.
