SHOOTING >> On Feb. 16 at around 9:18 p.m., citizens reported gunshots being fired near Ashley Avenue and West Lincoln Avenue. Callers reported vehicles and subjects leaving the scene before police arrived. Officers located two spent casings in the parking lot of the apartment complex and a bullet that traveled into a residence in the 400 block of Ashley Avenue. No one was injured. There were no clear suspect descriptio­ns to share at this time. The involved parties were associated with a black BMW sedan, a white Dodge Charger, a black Chevrolet truck, and a blue Honda sedan that all fled the scene before the police arrived. The case is still under investigat­ion.

DUI/TRAFFIC COLLISION >> On Feb. 17 at 6:50 p.m., officers responded to a traffic hazard in the area near East Gibson Road and Matmor Road. Officers arrived on the scene and discovered the traffic hazard was a single vehicle that was stuck on the center median of the intersecti­on due to a traffic collision. Officers located the driver, 23-year-old Woodland resident, Misael Victorino, who showed objective signs of being under the influence of alcohol. After conducting field sobriety tests, Victorino was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. He was booked into the Yolo County Jail.

DUI/TRAFFIC COLLISION >> On Feb. 18 at 7:42 p.m., officers responded to the area of North Pioneer Avenue and Kentucky Avenue regarding a white minivan that spun out and hit a curb. It was reported that the vehicle was now facing the opposite direction of travel. Officers arrived and located the driver, Charles Benjamin Ramirez who was a 54-year-old Woodland resident. Officers recognized signs of impairment and conducted an investigat­ion. Ramirez was placed under arrest for driving under the influence. Ramirez physically resisted officers and a brief struggle ensued. Ultimately, Ramirez was booked into the Yolo County Jail for driving under the influence and resisting/delaying officers, driving with a suspended license and a warrant.

BATTERY ARREST >> On Feb. 19 at around 10:47 a.m., officers responded to the report of a male who went behind the counter within an establishm­ent and spit in an employee's face. The employee requested prosecutio­n and the officers contacted the male who was identified as the suspect. The suspect, 69-yearold Woodland resident Richard Vigil was taken into custody. While the officer transporte­d Vigil to jail, a citizen's vehicle collided with the patrol vehicle. Vigil was transporte­d to the hospital as a precaution with no injuries and he was booked into the Yolo County Jail for battery. The officer and citizen did not sustain any injuries. The California Highway Patrol responded to investigat­e the collision.
