SUNY New Paltz rolls to victory over Brockport

NEW PALTZ — Strong pitching from Andrew Grann and Matt Prescia’s four RBI paced SUNY New Paltz to a 7-3 victory over Brockport in State University of New York Athletic Conference baseball.

Grann, who improved his record to 5-1, allowed one earned run on five hits in a seven-inning stint.

He struck out eight and walked just two.

Chris Pyz threw the last two innings in relief, giving up a run on two hits.

Prescia drove in four runs with a pair of hits for (2-2 SUNYAC, 13-8 overall) New Paltz, while Anthony Repetto had three hits and Thomas Pinnola, Matt Kaldon and Paul Merola each drove in a run.

The Hawks were shut out for the first five innings by Brockport’s Aaron Tilley, but scored three runs in both the sixth and seventh for the win.
