LOVE SONGS AND LULLABIES

Flutist Paula Robinson and guitarist Frederic Hand (pictured) will perform at 5 p.m. today at Christ Episcopal Church, Courthouse Square, Hudson. The concert is part of the Claverack-Landing chamber music series.

The program, ‘Songs Without Words,’ will include Italian love songs and lullabies, 13th century Sephardic Jewish music and hymns from various cultures.

Admission is $30 for the concert alone, $45 for the concert and a reception afterward.

ONE POET, TWO READINGS

Award-winning poet Matthew J. Spireng, a Marbletown resident, will present two readings on Sunday — the first at 4 p.m. at the Elting Memorial Library, 93 Main St., New Paltz; the second (which will be followed by an open mic) at 8 p.m. at the Wurtsboro Art Alliance Gallery, 73 Sullivan St., Wurtsboro.

Spireng, the assistant city editor at the Freeman, had his most recent full-length book, ‘What Focus Is,’ published last year. His first full-length book, ‘Out of Body,’ won the 2004 Bluestem Poetry Award.

The Music Lovers Club at the Gardiner Library will host an open mic from 2 to 3 p.m. today in the library, 133 Farmers Turnpike.
